Plenty of overnight rain changed the scenario and Lignières became a whole lot tougher than it could have been with the ground on the racecourse in particular getting soft. The 3L ran in the morning and Tom’s experience and classy horses shone through as they tackled what was described as a really grown up 3 star track with plenty of questions.
Coilbri de Riverland has always been a genuine brave guy and he really has made the most of 2020. Today he didn’t disappoint yet again with a clear in time to sit in 8th spot overnight in a huge division.
Brookfield Benjamin Bounce slogged around Le Lion d’Angers in the mud in 2019 and he used that experience today to his advantage to also come home clean in time to move up a place into the runner up slot on 29.3, less than a pole behind Alex Bragg’s experienced 5 star horse Zagreeb.
Brave Heart B (Dougie) pulled out all the stops in his first 4L to gallop around and tackle all the combinations with his usual particular brand of honesty and scope. He added 6 time to sit comfortably inside the top 20 in 16th and must have gone up another notch in Tom’s already high opinion of him.
So the end of another successful day out in France and much to look forward to tomorrow. I think Bounce especially will be happy to see a surface to jump on tomorrow!
