MHS Brown Jack had no problems flying through the second horse inspection and then had to wait all morning as head of affairs for the 6 year olds. Sadly no fairy tale ending though as two rails late on in the track dropped them from pole to 6th spot in a matter of seconds. There is nothing like eventing to compare to the rollercoaster of emotions that the sport brings, one minute it was a packed house holding their breath as Tom jumped and no sooner had the first rail fallen than all the attention switched to congratulations to Ingrid Klimke who was now the winner!
Ingrid was yet again a worthy winner with her dressage in the twenties and a double clear. Jack has learnt allot this week and is still one of the outstanding horses of his generation, he has only rolled one pole all year up until today and is definitely one of Tom’s rising stars.
All eyes now switch to the lone 5 star competition of the year and Tom and Toledo de Kerser head south to defend their title.
